Chaz, Frosty top weekend with top tens
Chaz Mostert (No. 55 Supercheap Auto Ford Falcon FG X) and Mark Winterbottom (No. 5 The Bottle-O Ford Falcon FG X) led Tickford Racing's Sunday at the Auckland SuperSprint as both turned in top ten finishes in Race 29 at Pukekohe Park Raceway. Finishing sixth, Mostert records his fifth consecutive top ten and tenth in the last 11 races.
With his ninth place finish, Winterbottom records his eighth top ten of 2018 and advances to 12th in the Supercars standings with two races remaining.
Along with Mostert, Cameron Waters (No. 6 Monster Energy Ford Falcon FG X) and Richie Stanaway (No. 56 RABBLE.club Ford Falcon FG X) both contested the Top Ten Shootout on Sunday, with Waters qualifying ninth and Stanaway a career-best seventh.
Waters, however, sustained front end damage on Lap 1 that hampered his race pace throughout the afternoon en route to finishing 12th, and Stanaway struggled in the middle stint of the race due to a high fuel load, ultimately finishing the race 20th.
Supercars next travels to the season finale event at the Newcastle 500. The second running of the event will host Races 30 and 31 of the 2018 Supercars season over the November 23-25 weekend.

"The car felt a little bit better, which was good. We were good Friday, puzzled, really, yesterday with the changes we made, and also quali today was no good, but in the race it was actually quite strong. Stopping on Lap 1 always makes it a little bit more difficult, but they kind of said leave the call to me, and I thought it was the right option given what was going on. We played that card, and then it's a long race on two sets of tyres to bring it home. To move forward from 14th to ninth was a good result.
"I'm just going to enjoy the final round with the team, not get frustrated, have fun, it's going to be emotional next round. Top ten is good, but I want to finish a bit higher than ninth in Newcastle. Good finish to today, really."

"It was obviously good to get into the Top Ten Shootout, I think it was the fourth straight one for us, which is cool. It's good to find a bit of momentum to finish the year off. In the race I got front splitter damage on Lap 1 which made the car push really badly. We lost all our pace from that point on, it was really just a battle to get it home at that point. It was good to get it home in 12th considering the damage we had. We had a few good battles, and the car is relatively straight, so bring on Newcastle."

"It was a positive weekend. Today didn't really quite work out for us for some reason. Qualifying was good, the car felt better, but then in the race the balance shifted. We're not too sure why and won't know until we get the car home and work it out, but overall to back up the win in Gold Coast and get a podium yesterday was really cool. Sixth is not a bad result, but after getting third yesterday you kind of want to get it again. We have a bit of work to do, a lot of work to do, and we'll see how we fare at Newcastle."

"We had to leave the fuel in a little bit longer than we intended while we sorted out a wheel nut, and I just really struggled with the second stint, just with the high fuel load and having to carry the tyres for so long during the second stint. Obviously we had lost our track position as well. Technically it shouldn't have cost us that much, but I think it did affect the outcome quite a bit. It's unfortunate, I'm not too pissed off about it. Things like that happen, so it is what it is."

"Obviously when you get a trophy on Saturday you want more on Sunday, so today was a little disappointing, but overall it was a solid weekend for us. That's three races in a row now with multiple cars in the ten, and that's been a challenge at times this year, so it's a credit to the team who have worked hard and gotten us closer to the pointy end. We'll keep at it the next couple weeks and try to end the season strong at Newcastle."
